Rocky Face 12-27-14

Christmas has come and gone, boys have got so many new toys they don't know what to play with. Yesterday was spent playing inside ALL DAY! So today I wanted to do something different!

We started the morning by taking daddy to work so that we could have the car for the morning...we packed water, sandwiches and LOTS OF SNACKS!!!! Then we layered up (it was in the 30s outside), we loaded up the car, and headed to Rocky Face!

We got a map...

Then headed up the green trail (1 mile one way) we stopped along the way at a water hole and mini water fall...along with so climbing and photo opts (Isaacs idea) and snacking (Elis idea) & while stopped eli tried to get ride of his hickups

Isaac was out FEARLESS leader...

We stopped again where green meets red for more snacks...to look at pics we had taken along the way...and for a little rest...

Then on to mile two, up the red trail...but on the way had to stop to play in some water...before having lunch at one of the top overlooks

After lunch we headed back down the mountain...red to blue trails

Boys would run until I couldn't see them and told them to wait, then beg to run on until I caught up...boys loved looking over the edge with mom...

And I'm thankful for my Sister Sarah for bundling up and coming out for a hike with us and of course for her great photos too!!!

It's always nice to get in the car and hear "mom that was fun, when can we do it again!" God willing soon!!!!

9/1/14 Carowinds

Today since we all had the day off we spent the day at Carowinds!!!

To our suprise when we got down there and had the boys measured Eli is almost an inch taller than when we first started going this year (April)! This means he could now ride 2 new rides!!!!

Mommy rode: Intemidator, Nighthawk & drop zone
Daddy rode: Intemidator (daddy's first time)
Daddy and Isaac rode: (daddy's first time) Hurler
Mommy and Isaac: Rip Roaring rapids & thunder road
Daddy and boys: Woodstock
All of us: ricochet, flying ace aerial chase & the pirate ships in Snoopy land

Boys hit up a show (Charlie Brown baseball)

And if course we hit up the pool!

Family selfie, Waiting to get in...

Look how much we have grown! Isaac was just barley red with high shoes and standing tall, now no doubt. And Eli was middle of grey now in pink!!!!

First time ride pics minus Ricochet

What a great day, making memories

Isaacs 7th bday adventures

We were able to spend the WHOLE day adventuring near the house...

We went to hickory, on our way we stopped at Bunker Hill Covered Bridge.

Boys led the way...

They enjoyed being outside running back and forth across the bridge...I enjoyed telling them of Uncle Brian who had brought me here as a child for adventures...

We then ventured on to Zarah Bakers park to play...

Before taking Nana lunch!!!

After nap we went to Murray's Mill...

Then to Walmart for another LONG adventure lol it took Isaac FOREVER to pick out just the right toy...

What a great day with memories made!
